Figures That Misled Russell Attacks Hour Tariff Claims

Waltham Oct 14 An enthusiastic rally at Park Theatre featured John E Russell addressing farmers and workers. He challenged claims that tariffs raised rural wealth, citing 1885 census mechanics and noting declines in beef, barley, cheese, and wool while milk and crops shifted value. He warned Massachusetts farmers struggle and urged abolishing poll taxes, praising labor and Democratic reforms. He criticized Allen's record and urged full Democratic ticket support.
