Newton Club Fete Reaches Peak Attendance in Fete

Self-inflicted shooting ends life in Allenstown tragedy

Irving A. Evans, son of Alonzo Evans of Boston, shot himself at Brice S. Evans summer residence in Allenstown. He lay wounded for hours before dying at 9:30 a.m. after letters to his wife and distress over business troubles, insomnia, and repeated travel worsened his condition. Mrs Evans, Miss Eva Jennett, and others witnessed the incident and assisted. A revolver lay near his body and the event drew wide attention.

Cremated in a Brewery Mystery Infant Body Found

Shooting Shock at Suncook Station House

In Suncook a man awaiting rail transport to Boston fired on his companion, Mrs. Evans, then lay dying after collapsing at the door. Residents heard shots as the driver guided the team away, and bystanders found the man unable to stand before paramedics arrived.
