London reports in the past 24 hours Italian forces push forward in the Triest area while Romanian lines stiffen in Transylvania. Romanian defenses repulse Teuton advances as pressure along the frontier forces a retreat toward the border. In Dobrudja Russian and Romanian positions hold firm.
Infantry fighting continues on the Austro Italian front with Italian successes. Near Gorizia they repulsed Austrian counterattacks causing heavy losses. East of Doberdo they approached the second Austrian line and took 400 prisoners.
Chicago reports Geraldine Farrar wife of Lou Tellegen arrived for rehearsal. She comments on married life and public idol status and hints at higher ambitions beyond fame in opera.
F Dawin Q Cole a Boston heating and ventilating engineer and his attorney former District Attorney J J Higgins asked Judge Lawton in the equity motion session of the Superior Court yesterday to revoke the decree of Judge Wait ordering Cole to pay his wife Alice May Cole $1000 alimony in two payments of $500 each. Judge Lawton took the request under advisement.

The Woman's Municipal League of Boston aims to raise 25000 to start district based rat catching with expert rat catchers under Mrs Albert J Leatherbee. They credit Dr Francis X Mahoney and the health department for reduced rat numbers and urge public funding plus state law to compel property owners to control rats costing Boston about 1355000 yearly for the pest.
Pasanando Aquino of Woburn has hired private detectives to help locate his 16 year old son Carmino who vanished from home about a month ago. A typewritten unsigned Italian note demanding $200 was received, and police and the detectives search the area while the family awaits clues.

Ex mayor John F Fitzgerald agrees to withdraw as the Democratic candidate for the United States Senate in favor of former Governor William L Douglas. If Douglas declines, Fitzgerald will abdicate for either Matthew Hale or the Progressive State committee, following talks with Democratic leaders and national chair Vance McCormick.
