Bispham Recital Opens 1909 10 Season in Jordan Hall
Oliner Downes notes David Bispham, baritone, opened the 1909 10 recital season in Jordan Hall with mixed voice. He praised some composers but criticized others, praising Schubert's Allmacht while calling parts of the program weak. Loeffler and Gilbert works drew divided reactions, Ben Cadman, Nellie R Eberhard, and Omaha Indian songs highlighted by harmonizations. Audience clapped. Mrs Bispham continued singing as the program ended.
