Discontinuance of the Providence Line

The Providence line steamers will be discontinued after the west-bound trip Oct. 12 and the east-bound trip Oct. 13. The Boston to Providence schedule changes as the trains depart from Boston and Providence on specified evenings, with discontinuations planned after Oct. 12 for the Boston to Providence trip and after Oct. 14 for the return. Beginning Oct. 14 the Fall River line steamers will depart New York at 6 p.m. instead of 6 p.m., with Newport stops in both directions.
