Boston voter registration climbs past 102 875 in city election with total registrations at 10 072 and projections to reach 106 000 after outside registrations close next Wednesday night. Since Sept 27 Democratic caucuses added 412 names across wards.

Richard Olney Registers to Vote for Bryan

The Hon. Richard Olney plans to support William Jennings Bryan this fall by registering as an outside voter. He entered Ward 11’s ward room last Monday to join the outside registration set to close next Wednesday. Olney, former Secretary of State under President Cleveland, lives at 415 Commonwealth Avenue, Precinct 9, Ward 11, and is a 65 year old Boston lawyer with office at 23 Court Street.

Verdict of Murder in Kate Scharn Death

Inquest into Kate Scharn’s death on August 18 in her Third Avenue flat continued. Fred Scharn testified as the victim’s brother while young Scharn was placed on the stand. The jury ruled Kate Scharn died by asphyxia and strangulation at the hands of unknown person or persons.
