Explosion at pulp mill kills ten in Onono Me

A digester in the pulp mill at Onono Me exploded at 8 this morning. The building was wrecked and ten workers were believed trapped in the ruins. One body has been recovered and fire and medical teams are responding to the scene.

Yardsmen strike over wage demands at Big Four

About ninety five Big Four yards workers in Cotumeus demand Cincinnati scare wages based on a ten hour day. Day conductors earn 270, yard brakemen 270, switch tenders 205. night conductors 290, brakemen 270, switch tenders 215. They also seek 125 monthly for yardmaster. Yards are blocked and only passenger trains move as the company plans to clear them tomorrow. A strike committee was appointed to patrol and defend the property.

Lost Off Shors Hamlet Mystery Vessel Strikes Hasbro Land

An unknown vessel struck off Hasbro Land on Oct. 11. Lifeboat crews, aided by tugs, searched in fog but found no sign of survivors or the ship. Wreckage including timbers and a cask marked Hamlet drifted ashore as authorities looked for the crew.

Port Huron Mich October 11 a woman’s body identified as Mrs Captain D Shepherd of Brockway Centre Mich was recovered about three miles below Goderich Ont confirming the Nashua disaster. Her husband Captain Shepherd also aboard perished in the fatal trip.
