Notorious Pickpocket Ring Brought to Light in Cleveland

Police identify six men in a Cleveland theft ring. Riot at Hudson Reformatory Enrages 300 Girls

A riot at Hudson Reformatory, led by Miss McCormick, saw about 60 inmates smash fixtures, pipes, and equipment after chapel service. Police and guards confronted the crowd, with Sergeant Cruise drawing his revolver at one point. A requisition for 25 pairs of handcuffs was placed as inmates continued to cause damage.

Murder Clue Found in Lower East Side Basements

Captain Schmidtz berger and a patrolman searched basements at 219 and 221 Seventh Street and found a bundle of woman's clothing wrapped in brown paper like that used for body portions. The bundle included a Sept. 27 newspaper with reddish marks that may indicate blood.
