Five Juvenile Runaways Found At Newton Shanty

Three girls from the Children's Friends' Society home and two Boston boys were found last night in an unused Italian shanty between Newton and Faneuil. The group had lived there for two days aided by a sixth, unnamed boy with money. They were taken to the Newton station.

Jernegan salt water gold mine seen in Portland visit

Investigators Peacock of Philadelphia and Gardiner of Lubec visited Portland to test the Jernegan plant. After four days no gold appeared in an accumulator, but a diving test yielded seven ounces of Virgin gold. Stockholders failed to attend the adjourned meeting, now set for November fifth, as Peacock prepares a written report. Gardiner notes local chatter that Julius Wolff of New York may buy the plant for a sardine factory.

Body found in Charles River near Harvard Bridge

A血colored man was found in the Charles River near Harvard Bridge yesterday at 11:40 am. The unidentified man, about 30 years old, 5 ft 4 in, 140 pounds, had a mustache and distinctive attire, including a white shirt, black coat, striped vest, and laced shoes. Police suspect death by suicide or accidental drowning while intoxicated. body had been in water about eight hours.
