International Union Will Meet Here This Morning

The International Coopers' Union holds its tenth annual convention at Naomi Hall on Washington Street opening at 10 o'clock. Welcome addresses will be given by local and city union leaders, with about sixty delegates expected from major U.S. cities. President Joseph B. Hammer of New York will preside. committees will be formed before a 2 o'clock adjournment.

Delegates and their friends will enjoy an afternoon sail down the harbor. Officers of the international organization are President Joseph B. Hammer of New York, Vice-President Patrick J. Delegates Rally at Quincy House During Union Convention

Delegates secured quarters at the Quincy House as committees at the two union depots welcomed them and escorted delegates to headquarters. The convention, in session for one week, will consider arbitration improvements, abolishing annual conventions, increasing defensive revenue, and adopting a broad referendum to broaden member input.

Labor unions push eight hour day and wage laws

Central Labor Union and affiliated unions endorsed workers labels and called for eight hour days and a two dollar per day minimum wage for municipal contractors. Franks McCarty elected to represent at the AFL convention in Louisville. Nominations for offices were made and the next meeting will finalize elections. Edward N. Nockels spoke on the recent Chicago strike, noting 4500 still on strike from an initial 42,000.
