The Wilson League greeted them with banners advocating Democratic views while Republican women escorted them to autos and a hotel. Mayor Thompson welcomed them at the hotel. An afternoon meeting drew several thousand women before eight groups visited major plants to address workers. The night featured a Republican rally with former Senator Albert J. Beveridge opening his Western speaking tour.
