Auto crash on Newburyport turnpike leaves 1 dead

One man, Charles Smith of Dorchester, died when a car carrying Mrs. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. L H Fullerton of Brookline overturned near Hawkes Corners after a rear wheel collapsed. The Fullertons and Mrs Smith were injured and hospitalized. Mrs Fullerton is listed in danger with head and limb injuries.

Tl'rederick L Small, Boston broker and husband of a slain woman, was held for the grand jury on a first degree murder charge by Judge C S Miles. The grand jury will convene in December.
