Adam H. Dickey, Eddy’s guardian and secretary, tells the Post there is no doubt Mrs. Mary Baker G. Eddy exists and is mentally sound. He says the aged Christian Science leader is alive and well, countering rumors and hostile press coverage.
The Back Bay home of Governor Eben S. Draper at 150 Beacon street was badly gutted by fire early today. Fire started in the rear, burned through four floors to the roof over about an hour, discovered by Mrs. M. E. Gibson who alerted police. Damage is estimated at 20000 with cause unknown. caretaker said everything was in order at 5 p m. The Governor’s family is away. firefighters were hampered by ornamental grill work.
An aeroplane, piloted by Wilbur Wright, flashed past Grant's Tomb then swept over the Hudson and returned to Governor's Island in a dramatic display above New York. The stunt drew half the city’s attention as Wright joined the ranks of Hudson and Fulton in aviation.

Both factions of the Democratic leadership in Boston have agreed that Joseph C. Pelletier should run against District Attorney Arthur D. Hill. A Friday convention at Faneuil Hall is expected to nominate Pelletier, with both sides publicly backing him to avoid a "gang" candidate label.

Faint cries for help came from the end of a two inch pipe at the Coffens farm Hoffmans lane near Hauppauge as rescuers work to reach John Coffens buried 80 feet under treacherous quicksand since Sunday morning.
James Gildersleeve a well digger with 380 neighbors labored since 6 AM to rescue the young farmer trapped in a well. Mysterious tapping and a voice emerged from the pipe later in the day renewing hope, but progress remained slow. The Cof fenses mourned beside the hole, kneeling over the makeshift rescue site as night fell.
Former Mayor Nathan Matthews Jr. of this city has joined Harvard College as a teacher and will teach a course on municipal government in the United States with emphasis on Massachusetts cities. He lectures in the same department as Dr. A Lawrence Lowell, now Harvard president. About 80 students are enrolled, and the course appears popular.

James Smith of Providence and Heinrich Robertson of Saugus Centre, both Harvard students, were seriously injured by a gang on Oxford Street Cambridge in the university grounds during Harvard's Bloody Monday celebration. The students avoided taking part in the festivities, deeming a rush unnecessary.
About 60 youths near Harvard square harassed Harvard students on Oxford street behind Memorial Hall. Six students including Robertson and Smith were attacked as rocks flew and clothes torn. Smith and Robertson were beaten and aided by a physician. Police monitored the area under Captain Murray from 8 to 11 p.m. Officials say students were not responsible for the riot.
In a collision between trolley cars at Union Square Allston last night Mrs Sloan whose residence is unknown received an electrical shock Edward Hayes of East Boston was slightly injured Both victims were treated and released by local medics at the scene
