Description of vessel hull forms and bow shapes in racing yachts
A description contrasts the stem and keel outlines of an older cutter bow with later racing yachts. The bow water line trends nearly straight with a convex lean, while the portion above water differs markedly from new U S racing yacht designs.
The Valkyrie from the Bow in Yacht Review
The Valkyrie is praised as a fast stable boat with a fine stern and minimal wetted surface. Observers note its light yet strong construction, forward keel rake, and leathered deck styling. The question remains whether a keel can beat a centreboard, a debate linked to the Vigilant.
