The Boston Appeal Board plans a wholesale revision of local draft board rulings after reviewing findings from many division boards. Recent appeals reveal some boards certified men with dependency issues into the national army and others excused married men indiscriminately. None of these appeals affect men already sent to Ayer.

Washington reports that the nationwide raid on Industrial Workers of the World offices on September 5 will yield more indictments. Officials say the recent Illinois harvest from Chicago is only a fraction of the total arrests expected in the broad crackdown.
