Pittsburg Triumphs Over Boston In Opening Series Opener

In front of 16100 fans at Huntington Avenue grounds, Pittsburg defeated Boston 4-0 in the first game of the championship series. Cy Young pitched bravely but could not stem the early rally as Leach Ritchey and Bransfield fielded brilliantly and Clarke-Beaumont made key catches. Pittsburg’s offense converted a rough first inning into a lead the visitors could not overcome.
