WALTHAM Sept 30 Mrs Mary Downs about 60 lived alone in a Charles street tenement. A police officer found her dead in her chamber kneeling beside the bed. Neighbors had missed her since Wednesday night and investigations followed. Medical Examiner Mead cites asphyxia as the cause of death amid ambiguity about heart disease. She previously worked as a cook at a beach and returned to Waltham two weeks ago. She leaves three sons and two daughters in Boston.
Paris dispatch reports unconfirmed word that Dreyfus has been moved from Isle du Diablo to Cayenne awaiting transport to a French or Algerian port aboard a steamer.
