Poison Mistaken Milk Tragedy in Middleboro

Charles E. Morse aged 52 died at the Middleboro almshouse after drinking a bowl of disinfectant believed to be milk. He was almost blind with impaired senses of smell and taste, and his death came from violent convulsions caused by the error.

Death by Poison in Stable Caretaker Incident

Morse, described as feeble minded, assisted the superintendent in the stable. He drank from a poisoned bowl, mistaking it for milk, and died soon after despite urgent medical help. He had lived at the home for some time without relatives and was beloved for gentle treatment of animals.
