A New York dispatch reports Southern Pacific managers will meet in the Mills building to finalize plans for a new Pacific coast steamship line from Portland to San Diego. Maine Central proposes lease deal for Portland & Ogdensburg Railway

In a Portland Maine despatch dated November 29, the Maine Central Railroad offers to lease the Portland and Ogdensburg line. The plan provides a perpetual lease with annual rental 1 percent for three years and 2 percent thereafter, with semi annual payments. The arrangement would yield about 622,000 yearly for three years and 544,000 thereafter for the city of Portlandạch.

Illinois Central offers stock to raise funds for expansion

The Illinois Central explains a circular the issue of $1,000,000 new stock at 156 to cover $500,000 owed for grain elevators and warehouses in Chicago. Adit Plan Aims to Drain National Minnesota Mines

The National mine deep adit, started near the river 500 feet west of the creek shaft, will run nearly a mile along the vein to drain water and allow rock to be stamped underground.
