The Bulgarian seventh division of about 40 000 troops remains encamped near Saloniki. They reject any Greek agreement on retaining Saloniki, leaving the matter to diplomatic decision.
Albert T Patrick will leave Sing Sing after Governor Dix pardons him amid a long death penalty fight. John T Milliken pledges 100000 dollars to charity if Patrick cannot prove innocence within a year. The case followed Rice’s 1909 death and earlier commutations amid questions of a fair trial.
John Rennison, about to undergo appendicitis surgery, gave his wife a $10,000 check the day before he died on Sunday July 9 1911. She deposited the check Monday but it was credited to her and later transferred to the executor, other heirs claiming it became part of the Rennison estate.
Jamsey Bennett, 60, of 33A Jaques Street Somerville was struck and killed on Broadway between Lincoln and Austin streets shortly after 6 PM. Police had not secured the vehicle owner or the driver by late night as the car sped away after the impact and the rear light was switched off.

London reports that peace plenipotentiaries are continuing negotiations and Britain and Germany pursue a peaceful Austria–Servia settlement. Despite this, the danger of renewed hostilities remains serious with Bulgarian forces near Tchatatsa and Turkish troops numbering over 100000. Albanian independence is claimed in Durazzo while Serb stance on autonomous Albania is awaited. Russia and Austria reportedly do not seek a port clash in the Adriatic.
John Keenan 18 of 54 Bartlett Street Charlestown, missing since Sept 18 on Mt Washington with a Boston and Maine surveying party, has been located at the St Jean de Dieu Hospital for the Insane in Montreal. George Villeneuve, superintendent, confirms admission since Sept 18. Parents sent photo and details and await further word.
Fred J. Pearson of Maiden was arrested by Somerville police on a drunkenness charge. He faces court Friday morning for operating an automobile while intoxicated and allegedly tried to drive over the victim’s body at the Broadway scene of last night’s fatal accident.
Major Jacob Tu Burbank longtime Malden resident and oldest member of Post 40 G A R died at his home early yesterday. He was 91 and a Miami University graduate. He served as paymaster in the army after the War. He is survived by his widow two daughters and three grandchildren.
A coast-bound Portland express was endangered last Saturday night when two heavy ties were placed on rails near Elm street in Stamford. The incident occurred at 11:30 PM after a west-bound passenger train had passed safely.
