Sold by all druggists and advertised as an antiseptic with healing power.
Sir Hiram Stevens Maxim, American born inventor of the Maxim machine gun, died at his London home. Knighted in 1901, he also held patents in lamps, current machines, ordnance and smokeless powder. He was 84, born February 5, 1840 in Sangerville Maine.
Nov 24 Haverhill reports the pentacket Mills weavers strike by the Moses P Stevens Corporation was declared off this afternoon ending the labor dispute at the mill.
At a conference between strikers and management, the mill agreed to raise wages by 10 percent for 400 employees, improve plant lighting, enhance filling for work, and reduce looms from 21 to 14.
Max Mitchell, organizer of the Massachusetts Credit Union, cabled through the State Department an invitation to Italian Minister of Finance Luigi Luzzatti to visit the United States. The aim is to develop plans for large loans for reconstruction of Jews in war areas. Mitchell and Jewish bankers believe at least $100,000,000 must be borrowed for rehabilitation after the war.
In Petrograd it is announced that Boris Sturmer resigns as premier and foreign minister and M Trepoff is appointed premier. The move ends a prolonged clash between the cabinet and the Duma, with confirmation from London on November 24.

Bodies of General Acosta and Villa secretary Andres Sada found west of the city. Acosta killed in action by Colonel Cadera. Trevino inspected fortifications and denied desertion rumors while praising his men.
