Football Parties in Auto Smashup

Two cars collided at the corner of Exeter street and Commonwealth avenue yesterday afternoon. One car owned by A. J. Hoe of 152 West 86th street New York was badly smashed. the other lost one spoke from its forward left wheel. All occupants escaped injury.

Wreck Near Boston Involving Hoe Party Before Yale Game

A Hoe party traveling to the Harvard Yale game collided with a car led by W A Bacon of Cloister New Haven on Commonwealth Avenue near Exeter Street. The Bacon machine swerved to avoid impact but both autos skidded to the curb. Hoe car suffered a smashed front wheel and guard with occupants including Mrs Hoe and E L Ostendorf.

Indiana man gives $4000 gifts to seven children

Franklin Indiana Nov 23 S A Sandefur aged 77 reversed the usual flow of gifts by presenting five of his seven children with $4000 each after a noon meal at his home. The gesture surprised the family and highlighted a generous birthday observance.

Sacred Heart Church marks 40th anniversary ceremony

Hundreds gather at Sacred Heart Church East Boston for a solemn high mass opening three days of celebration for the 40th anniversary of the cornerstone laying on Brooks Street. Rector Rev James H O Neil leads events with Rev Patrick J McCarthy deacon and Rev John M Burke sub deacon as Rev Father Noon preaches in Washington DC. The land was bought in 1869, ground broken 1873, church completed Easter 1784 and dedicated to the Sacred Heart. the parish now has about 8000 members of many nationalities.
