Middleboro Nov 2 report says Rev William Bayard Hale formerly pastor of the Church of Our Saviour is now an inmate of a sanitarium suffering from nervous prostration.
In New York on November 22 Bartow S Weeks counsel for the prisoner protested the publication of a newspaper report claiming insanity as a last resort defense. Recorder Goff said defence information would be considered. District Attorney Osborne backed Weeks amid a jury selection delay with over fifty talesmen interviewed.
Condition is so serious his wife cannot see him. Dr and Mrs Hale have just returned from their bridal tour in Europe. Hale planned winter parish work in Ardmore Philadelphia. He was a prolific writer and reformer whose essays in Forum and Arena attacked church fairs. His wife was Miss Mabel Jolly of Middleboro.

At a Republican convention in the city the eight School Board nominees were chosen by a 25 member committee after a tense session at Young's Hotel. Willard S. Allen, Francis Meredith Jr., M. Ordway Daily, Emily A. Fifield, Fred S. Bennett, George A. O. Ernst, and Sir James A. McDonald were named amid protests led by Henry Gediman. The formal ratification at Wesleyan Hall lasted under two minutes before adjournment proclaimed by Jesse Gove.
Martin V. Bergin son of Princeton councilman Peter V. Bergin died from bowel inflammation today in Lawrenceville after a hazing incident last Friday. The Lawrenceville freshman was 12 and participating in the hazing when a fellow hazer fell on him.
About 100 workers installed a new curve on the Boston Elevated near Causeway street in front of the Fitchburg depot. The outward track was abandoned temporarily and all traffic moved to the inward line. Blockaded cars stretched from Haymarket Square subway to Warren Bridge.

William Hichborn general foreman of the Charlestown Navy Yard construction department and brother of Constructor Philip Hichborn died of heart failure yesterday morning near the Chelsea street gate as he saluted Private Morand. Dr Morse was unable to save him. Born Salem August 1 1830 he moved to Boston and served at the yard since 1860s. Rear Admiral Hichborn summoned from Washington.

General Young reports Aguinaldo with about 200 people including some women and carts passed Aringay on Friday November 17. American forces riding with Macabebes pursue toward San Fernando and Bayombong while engaging the rear guard at Aringay. A prisoner report says Aguinaldo escaped in peasant clothes after near-surround at Tarlac.
