Remarkable Brockton shoplifting case nets two women

Two Brockton women Laura McGuire and Norah Mullen were arrested after concealing in their underclothes and stockings goods valued at eight dollars including gloves fur boas pocketbooks lace curtains opera glasses and hat trimmings. Inspectors Burke and Kelley nabbed them in a Washington street store.

Bloodied Belmont clash yields heavy losses for British

London reports General Methuen says at Belmont on November 23 British forces attacked Boers at daybreak. Three ridges fell under heavy shelling with N Dalrymple-Hamilton and Bulkeley among the wounded.
