New Evidence in Mackie Assault Case at Station 4

Two long pasteboard boxes and a valise in Captain Gaskin's office held Mackie's clothes from the night of the assault on Mrs. Randall at 15 Indiana street. Bloodstains on coat and trousers will be tested by analyst 8. L. Sharples. A knotted handkerchief linked to Mackie is studied, with witnesses totaling about a dozen. Mackie remains in custody on bonds of 20 000 for the grand jury, amid defense claims of police pressure and unfair questioning.
