Escapee flees through yards after robbery at Marston home

Mrs. L. G. Marston observed a well dressed young man leaving her rear yard after visiting friends at Vernon and Prospect. Police pursued through fences and fields toward Westwood, recovering the coat and hat with money and jewelry from the home in his possession.

Union moves to block potential layoffs at telephone firm

The union wired at midnight seeking official consent from the international body to consider a lockout if layoffs occur. They called for immediate sending of international officers to manage the threatened crisis. Dying Man Breaks Free After Suspicious Collapse

Patrolman Patrick Cullen of Jamaica Plain police faced a shocking moment when a presumed dying man, Joseph Prado, kicked at his abdomen and climbed off a stretcher.
