No Tax To Pay To Real Estate Brokers Says IRS Ruling

The Post reports that internal revenue officials clarified who counts as a commercial broker under the tax law. Citing Stack v. Tucker 2% Wall 321 the IRS says brokers without possession of goods are commissions merchants, not commercial brokers, and refunds will be issued to those who paid taxes under the mistaken assumption. Collector James D. Gill notes the ruling and that it is not yet widely known.

Dalton Caught After Concord Reform School Escape

Nov 14 two youths Charles Dalton and John Steele escaped the Concord Reform School. Dalton was captured by Officer Cox near Brookline Street after a ride on an electric car. Steele remains at large as police anticipate his surrender. Dalton faces eighteen more months for the escape.

Morrison Trial On in Eldorado Case of Jealousy Killings

General William F. Draper former United States ambassador to Italy gave a life sized portrait of himself to Valencia Council Knights of Columbus at their meeting in Milford. He was moved to donate for the council chaplain Rev T J Fitzgerald. Draper and Fitzgerald first met at a Milford Board of Trade reception a year ago and formed a warm friendship.
