Prosecution Details Letter Trail in Dynamite Plot Case
The government rests its case on hundreds of letters from John J. McNamara to support claims that Frank M. Ryan and 44 co defendants conspired to transport explosives. Miss Dye testified she quit Iron Workers before the Los Angeles blast and had written letters tied to earlier explosions. Witnesses linked Hockin to hid nitroglycerin after raids in Rochester and Muncie. Escalating plots involved James B and Miss Dye, with Eckhoff denying direct involvement. Von Spreckelsen testified to losses from explosions and threats after refusing to hire non union workers. The record cites Indianapolis dynamiting on October 25 1909 and related sites including the Central Union Exchange and a library.
