Woman Killed by Auto Truck in Melrose

Miss Emma Eldrige fifty of 276 Grove street Melrose was struck and killed by a Hood Rubber Company auto truck while crossing Atlantic avenue at Congress Street during a rain storm. Driver Frank M Coleman of 4 Belvidere Street was charged with manslaughter and bailed. She had worked nearly 25 years at Ellis Printing Company nearby.

Canty of 89 Melrose Street Reading held a man at North Station after an alleged pickpocket attempt. Special Officer Sheridan of the railroad police intervened and Canty was booked at Hanover Street station. Canty gave 105 Mercer Street South Boston as his address.

Dorchester Tube Ready for New Year Traffic In Boston

Engineers report Dorchester tunnel section from Dewey square to Park street nearly finished with the Washington street station main hurdle. A 3200 foot underchannel segment under Fort Point Channel will start after bids on December 15 and use double 24 foot diameter concrete tubes with air pumps and safety clauses for workers.
