Break up of the Old Orthodoxy and the Signs of the Times
The Rev M J Savage spoke at Unity Church on the breakdown of medieval orthodoxy and the rise of liberal theology. He argued civilization’s growth makes old beliefs untenable, citing geology biology and humane ethics as eroding core doctrines. He urged private schools and parochial systems to face state supervision and advocated strong moral and manual training in public education. He also critiqued Catholic influence and Swinton’s history in public schools.
