Mrs. Fred N. Griffiths of Cocasset street Foxboro, winner of the Post Millionaire for a Day contest, intends to visit a Boston hospital with toys candy fruit and flowers to comfort a suffering child. The Post will help make her wish come true.
Springfield judge Wal lace R Heady told Mrs Louis Cadrette to wear ear muffs to bed if she cannot endure her husband snoring. She, 60, received $7 weekly support from her 63 year old spouse after two years of marriage. Heady urged them to adjust to their situation and continue living together. The wife noted she could have avoided marriage had she known the level of snoring. She added they sleep on a bed and a couch in their apartment.
Morbid curiosity in the Hall Mills murder case is being capitalized. Walter Masterson began erecting a high fence around the Phillips farm, scene of the crime, and will charge Admittance Twenty five Cents. He has leased the farm for thirty dollars a month. A decrepit plane and horse hair settee from the Phillips home were sold to a New York freak museum for two hundred fifty dollars. Souvenirs from the crab apple tree where the tragedy occurred were hawked in New York and Newark at ten cents each.
Defense testimony in Malden Court yesterday revealed a conference at the Dow home where the idea of giving Mary O Leary Raab an automobile ride was discussed on the morning of Oct 22. The case concerns Mrs Kate Dow Melrose and associates accused by Mrs Raab of assault.
Mrs Mina C Untermyer won a final divorce from Alvin Untermyer son of Samuel Untermyer and is reported to be near marriage to film star Elliott Dexter. She said the husband deserted her despite her efforts to keep their home. Dexter flirted with engagement rumors when she arrived from New York and met him at Riverside station.
In Mansfield, a string of petty thefts targets historic cannon balls shown at the public library. Thieves moved one to Chief Nelsons doorstep prompting a dramatic kick, another dumped in a cesspool and a third placed in a rubbish incinerator. Police seek the remaining relics.
The Malden Board of Aldermen reviewed an application from the Boston Elevated Company to operate three jitney buses between Linden and Malden squares. The petition, seeking a Linden square to Malden run, was referred to the licenses committee, as the firm had earlier asked to run jitneys from Linden square to Maplewood.
The Tories win a commanding majority as Winston Churchill loses his Dundee seat to the Labor challenger. The result shifts the balance of power and confirms Labor as the main opposition in Parliament.

George Barlow a 25 year old inmate at Deer Island drug ward made a half hour escape last night advancing unseen from the women’s prison and seizing a boat to row toward Winthrop shore. Guards on view fired threats and he surrendered after being ordered ashore.
Dr Theodore A Hoch of McLean Hospital testified that Dorothy Gordon was admitted on March 22 1921 and that there was no evidence she acted involuntarily. He said he would report any irregularities if present during his examination and interview with her.
A Post representative found him at the home of friends in Worcester's Greendale area recovering from a nervous breakdown after a major operation last spring. Hartley, a 20 year old from Pawtucket, defeated champion walker Brown in a 4 1/2 mile race from City Hall to Providence City Hall. The event, overseen by Mayor Gainer and Mayor Kenyon, ended with Hartley exhausted but victorious after starting at noon and finishing about 12 38 PM. Brown claims a faster time for the distance but Hartley’s win was deemed fair.
