George E. Smith of 66 Graham Street Quincy Point wins the Post’s Millionaire for a Day contest for a description of America’s greatest man. He plans to sea sled with his fiancée on Wednesday for a harbor trip at 40 to 50 miles an hour with the “sweetest” girl in the world at his side.
Fervent appeals to rescue children from propaganda in American histories were voiced at Mason Street School Headquarters during a crowded public hearing by the school committee. The discussion addressed criticisms of how histories are taught in public schools and called for reforms.
Massachusetts officials announced approval of 18 automobile tail lamp makes to meet the new law effective January 1. Registrar Goodwin said enforcement will begin Jan 1 and noted two laws, tail lamps and the Volstead Act, are often ignored.
