McDonald Robbed at Jenney Gas Station in Back Bay

For the second time in a month John A. McDonald, manager of the Jenney Gasoline Company station at Stuart and Berkely streets, Back Bay, was held up. A single robber demanded hands up and took $18 from the cash box and $4 from McDonald’s trousers. Police are seeking a second suspect in a prior October 15 robbery.

Great Liquor Cargo Seized at New Bedford Port

On November 16 in New Bedford the Portuguese steamer Sao Vicente carrying 4000 tons of coal was found to hold a larger bounty of contraband liquor. Inspector Finnegan and eight customs men seized a wagon load of fine spirits, marking the port’s biggest liquor seizure from any visiting vessel.
