Afternoon revival begins with a 2 00 p m sermon on Pharisees and Publicans at the Tabernacle. Bible study led by Miss Grace Saxe follows, with sessions daily Tuesday through Friday. Student Night at 7 30 p m features The Forces That Win, expected to be a large campaign rally.
The German submarine Deutschland slipped from New London State pier at 1:30 A M bound for Bremen. Captain F Hinsch and Eastern Forwarding Company officials rode one tug as two Scott Wrecking Company tugs towed the sub from the harbor while a launch of reporters trailed down the Thames River to the harbor mouth.

More than 300 I. W. W. shoe repairers who struck at major stores have ended the strike and returned to work. They will work 8 hours 84 minutes daily with a 45 minute noon break, receive higher wages, and the union will not be recognized nor will strikers face discrimination.

Miss Lynde leaves a $500 bequest to Mary Ruseau of Brasher Iron Works New York for identifying Dakota Dan Jim Ruseau a Canadian lumberjack and circus roustabout as the younger Russell claimant. The will filed in East Cambridge Probate Court names Ruseau as residuary legatee and notes Fresno Dan is her nephew the real claimant to the Russell fortune.

The American embassy in London cancelled the passport of D Thomas Curtin of Boston a former West Roxbury High School teacher and Harvard 1910 graduate. He had spent months in Germany posing as a correspondent while under contract for London newspapers and reportedly sought military and naval information. German papers labeled him a spy. He is currently in London.

Mrs Inez Milholland Boissevain the New York suffragist has received her sixth blood transfusion in Los Angeles where she has been hospitalized since October 14 for anemia. Nurses say the transfusion acted as a stimulant but her condition remains serious.
