A string of violent incidents across Winchester Virginia DesPlaines Illinois and nearby towns left white youths and a white woman dead or dying after attacks by Black suspects in what authorities term robbed and political clash related violence. In Winchester Wesley Honesty and Clint Burke were jailed after a fatal brick assault on Joseph McFall a 19 year old Mt Jackson resident. In DesPlaines a husband and wife were killed and the assailants fled after a robbery attempt. In Troy Illinois a Black man William Vanderburg fatally injured Michael Gibbons during a political dispute. A third Chicago case describes a man harming his wife Louise then himself in a mass casualty incident. details appear inconsistent and unverified.

Ex-Senator Norwood of Georgia is named among the Georgia members elect to the forty-ninth congress. Other noted figures include Sidney S. W B Keller of New York secretary of the Bottlers Protective Association is in Cincinnati arranging the third annual convention and exhibition beginning November 18 at Music Hall. The Travellers Protective Association met again in Louisville Kentucky on Saturday. Legislation to protect drummers interests was discussed and hotels in various cities were ordered to be boycotted. The next convention will be held in Philadelphia during the last three days June 1835.
