Fumes on Kenilworth Cause Three Deaths In Voyage

On the Kenilworth three sailors died and a fourth nearly suffocated from fumes of burning sugar aboard the ship owned by Arthur Sewall. Captain Baker chief mate Piper and apprentice Hobson perished. passenger George Thrum survived after hours of resuscitation and sleep. The vessel had just completed a record voyage from Hilo to New York.

Twelve Killed In Rail Crash Near Murray Hill Crossing

A Grand Trunk express collided with a freight train near Murray Hill crossing two miles west of Trenton Ontario at 3 30 this morning. Twelve people were killed and a dozen or more seriously injured. The west bound express diverted to the wrong track due to a misplaced switch. The crash destroyed engines and several cars with many passengers crushed. Injured and dead were taken to Belleville hospital. named victims include William Luness Charles Goodchild John Casey and others with Russian travelers among the deceased.
