Premier faces cabinet revolt over plan to direct war effort via Allied conference. London press blasts the scheme as a stormy bid that sidelines Haig and Robertson. Lloyd George defends policy in the Commons as a Monday vote looms, possibly adverse and leading to resignation.
American infantry with French allies ambushed a large German patrol near the German lines on a shell blasted farm. Three young men stole an automobile on Columbia road Dorchester and led officers through South End streets before being captured. The theft involved Shaw Frazer’s car from 688 Columbia road, reported promptly. Patrolman McCarthy and Patrolman Dugan pursued on Harrison avenue and Dover and Washington streets until McCarthy boarded the fleeing vehicle.
