The 2 PM topic is The Need of Revivals and the 7:30 PM services Defending Revivals quoting Habakkuk 3 2.
Baseball evangelist Billy Sunday addressed over 200 Unitarian ministers from across the state and as far as Kalamazoo at a crowded Boston Ministers' Association gathering in the Second Church auditorium yesterday afternoon.
Chester H. Reynolds, inventor, his wife, and family are named in a Watch and Ward Society action accusing him of enticement. Mildred Roger, a 17 year old Roxbury High School student, was yesterday held for the grand jury in $1000 bond.
Boston police raided the offices of Dr. Lemuel S. Noble at 143 Massachusetts Avenue finding 25 drug users and arresting Dr. Elliott D Robbins on dispensing habit forming drugs. A warrant for Noble, accused of conspiracy, is out as the operation uncovered a flow of patrons including 22 women and 3 men. Medical Examiner Leary examined the users. one woman was seriously ill. Authorities plan to seek ways to limit supply until cures are found.
President Wilson resumes work in the White House and assumes reelection, focusing on clearing his desk of business and noting concern over the political makeup of the next House of Representatives.
Secretary Lansing outlines submarine, Mexican and British blockade concerns to the President. Officials predict no rapid policy shifts if re elected, with tariff revision only after the war. Cabinet stability is emphasized though some names have been discussed as potential resignations.
Official statewide recount of votes from last Tuesday's election began across California. In San Francisco President Wilson widened his lead by six votes as about one sixth of precincts were recounted. Captain Frederick Curtis of the American steamer Columbian said he was a prisoner on German submarine U-49 for six days after his vessel was destroyed. He arrived in Corunna, Spain, with the rescued crew, via Paris, to relate the incident to an Associated Press representative.
Captain Curtis reports all 109 aboard the Colum bian were saved after U 49 torpedoed and sank her. Lifeboats were used while the captain was taken aboard. Captain Patterson of Seatonia says he was a prisoner eight days on U 49 and heard its guns and the Balto explosion. Captain Velugren of Fordalen later joined him in the submarine’s hold.
After a seven hour Mexi can-American joint commission session in Atlantic City plans for the withdrawal of American punitive troops were discussed. An agreement could be reached before week’s end, with troops recalled within a reasonable time perhaps 60 to 90 days and subject to future conditions.

New York Nov. 13 Representatives of the railroads and four brotherhoods totaling 400 000 employees failed to agree on applying the eight hour law. The dispute centers on the existing mileage system of compensation, signaling the potential for a national railroad strike again.
After an all day conference between the National conference committee of the railways and Brotherhood conferees the latest deadlock was announced. The meeting had been arranged in September.
Funeral services for Samuel H Lunt lasting 50 years as a conductor for the Eastern and Boston & Maine Railroads will be held tomorrow from 14 Richdale Avenue Somerville. Born in 1888 in Newburyport he once ran a train to Boston and led trains carrying many Presidents. he retired on pension three years ago.
British forces extended a five mile front assault in Dobrudja and shattered German lines. By dusk they had advanced over a mile, capturing Beaumont-Hamel and St. Pierre Divion with towns trenches and redoubts, and reporting more than 4000 prisoners. The drive pressed toward Serre as sustained fighting continued.
Allied forces pushed a five mile front on both sides of the Ancre River in a fresh offensive. The Germans offered little resistance beyond Serre as weather delays since October 21 have postponed major action, with the sector previously quiet since Thiepval fell.
