Fire rescue saves ill resident from basement blaze

In Cambridge at 102 Trowbridge Street a fire started in the basement of a six apartment house. Mrs. Walter Nichols, ill and under a nurse's care, was carried to safety by firefighters after blankets were wrapped around her. She was moved to 99 Trowbridge Street. The cause remains undetermined as flames spread to the first floor before crews contained the blaze.
