Disappearance of Theodore Thurm Shocks New York City
The sudden vanishing of Theodore Thurm, principal of the city’s oldest kindergarten, unsettles New York. Thurm, 30s, ran a large school with 16 teachers serving French to German lessons. Losses include about 3000 dollars to local merchants and 14000 to a lender. Some creditors still defend Thurm as misled by debt and poor management while awaiting his explanation. The Methodist Episcopal Missionary Committee convened with Treasurer’s report showing a 4630 dollar debt after other credits. A wrestling title match between Cristol and Miller is not yet settled with two falls contested and the third drawn.
