At the municipal election voters favored incumbent Thomas A. Doyle a Republican who secured 2287 votes to Democratic challenger Thomas Davis 846. Reform candidate William H. Barren drew 241. Doyle holds a citywide majority in every ward and the City Council remains largely Republican.
Newark Nov 10 The private banking firm A M Reynolds and Co of Newark suspended payment yesterday. It is believed assets largely exceed liabilities. The senior member holds substantial property in the city. The firm hopes to resume business at an early date.
