Thousands of Soviet sympathizers were dispersed from public meeting halls in Greater Boston by police and State Guards during the second anniversary of the Russian Soviet Republic. The crowd moved to private socialist quarters where speakers denounced America and praised Soviet Russia for hours in a tense, muted celebration.
The American Federation Executive Council denounces government policy as autocratic and says the strike is justified. It vows full labor backing and seeks public support for the protest against the action.
Last night remnants of Soviet sympathizing groups jammed the New International Hall on Wenonah Street off Elm Hill Avenue in Roxbury. The hall was crowded well before 8 p.m. as benches were secured for the gathering.
Belgrade reports a clash between Italian government troops and Gabriele D Annunzio led forces with casualties on both sides. A Serbian press bureau statement cites losses including one captain and several men. Telegram from Tagrod notes hunger and low military discipline among D Annunzio’s troops.

A United States army Navy and marine corps bonus will be pressed by the American Legion. Massachusetts 65 delegates may reverse action this afternoon. Proposals include cash bonuses of 500 dollars for all, or a daily per diem, or government bonds, or city and farm loan schemes, among about 50 options debated in Minneapolis.
The note indicates that veterans will press for their bonus with emphasis and that the discussion continues in the next column on page ten.
The social welfare meeting at the Church of the Disciples yesterday urged the necessity of policewomen. Speakers advocated policewomen on the Common with legal authority, noting protection for girls and beneficial follow up work.
A funeral gathering raises suspicion as authorities seek to involve a woman in the case. Police report that every known Autaist in the area has an alibi, narrowing the field of inquiry.
New Hampshire state officials plan to intervene in the investigation of Maurice Otterson's murder in Hookset. The war veteran was shot at his father's home shortly before he was to depart for Manchester with his sister in law, Mrs Howard Otterson. A funeral for Otterson was held at his parents' house earlier today as services continued.
One man was killed and several others received minor burns when a massive oil fire swept 80 acres near Wagoner City in Texas. The blaze, caused by a lightning strike on an oil tank, devastated a large portion of the town and destroyed much of the surrounding acreage owned by multiple Eastern oil companies. Estimated losses exceed one million dollars.
New York November 9 A national appeal by prominent Baptists asks Baptist churches to raise pastors salaries to keep ministers from entering other fields of work. The group warns wage stagnation may drive clergy away.
The American Federation of Labor denounces government injunctions against striking bituminous coal miners as autocratic and unjust. After a four hour meeting the AFL executive council says the walkout is justified and pledges full organized labor support plus aid for the strike, with continuation on page ten.

Charlottesville Virginia November 9 The condition of Senator Martin the Democratic leader in the Senate who has been ill in a hospital for several months was described by his physicians as very serious He had the worst night since illness began and remains in critical condition.
John H. Willard of Lexington found a small yet perfectly formed Indian arrow head on his North Street farm yesterday. The discovery adds to a number of relics unearthed in Lexington in recent years, supporting evidence of historic Red Man presence in the area.
