Jewelry Heist at Madison Avenue House Valued at 8000

Emanuel Jacobus reports to the detective bureau that thieves entered his four story Madison Avenue home during dinner last evening and stole about 38000 in jewelry and clothing. Detectives note entry through a rear window and suspect at least two burglars carried off the loot including a diamond heart and several rings and watches. Jacobus is a lawyer with offices at 132 Nassau Street.

Arrest in murder of dressmaker Mrs Dennis

Washington November 7 Richard Cole a 20 year old colored porter was arrested and jailed to await grand jury action on charges of assaulting Mrs Ada Gilbert Dennis a noted dress maker at her Washington home over ten months ago. Mrs Dennis died from injuries about two weeks ago. Julius Van Brakle testified Cole spoke of being happy if she were dead and warned the investigation might be reopened. Cole denied the assault and said he helped authorities.

Morgan Sues Weidenfeld In New York Supreme Court

In New York, Nov 7, J Pierpont Morgan sues Camille Weidenfeld in the Supreme Court before Justice O Gorman. The case arises from a 1893 stock note transaction.
