Fire Rips Four Story Eliot Street Building

A blaze at 1395 and 137 Eliot street owned by Louise Williams sent two alarms from Box 55 as flames spread from the basement air shaft to upper floors. The Royal Society of Good Fellows and other lodge rooms were evacuated safely while two children were carried to the street from the fourth floor. Total loss expected around $8000 with upper-floor lodge rooms damaged and the building partially unoccupied.
