London dispatch from Madrid reports the Daily Mail correspondent stating Spain will sign the peace treaty under pressure. The note implies political concessions are likely as negotiations proceed amid international reactions and domestic debates over terms.
Military authorities at Devonport, Britain’s largest naval arsenal, ordered the immediate mobilization of all troops in the western district. London reports the move as unusually active at the naval base.
Mulrey designedly created false bills totaling 1100 dollars for Boston teams to Finneran with intent to defraud. Finneran drew the money though not due. Mulrey received an 11 year state prison sentence while Finneran drew 28 months in the house of correction. The defendants claimed annual report absolved them, and jurors ignored their five lawyers. Meanwhile Stevens faces 100000 voters as jurors to condemn him.

Fire Commissioner Russell is slated to promulgate orders today or tomorrow that will shift many officers and men across quarters. Last night unease spread through city fire houses as rumors grew, though Russell denied them. Informants elsewhere confirmed changes are coming.
