A three year scam run from 69 Washington Street was halted when John Hellehen was arrested for obtaining money under false pretenses. He advertised high salaries and quick diplomas for telegraph operators, collected tuition, and yielded little knowledge. Victims across New England paid 10 to 45 dollars each. police say no genuine railroad or telegraph company hires graduates. Hellehen held for court.
