Bird wins Boston by a 5000 margin over Gardner as Republicans maintain control of the legislature.
In New York City election of November 4 Fusion swept Tammany Hall aside as John Purroy Mitchel won the mayoralty by a likely 100000 to 125000 plurality. Ex Governor Sulzer captured the Assembly seat as Fusion also took comptroller and borough presidency posts, reshaping control of the Board of Estimate. Republicans likely carried the State Assembly.
The Hon. Alexander McGregor was re elected for a third term to the Governor's Council from the fourth district. He carries his district by a fair majority as progressive and democratic campaigns tried to unseat him. Cambridge wards favored Sullivan while Somerville Malden and Everett supported McGregor.
Governor elect Walsh sends thanks to the Boston Post for its campaign support and a championship of guidance. He notes spontaneous backing and pledges to govern to merit continued confidence, dated Boston November 4, 1913.

Higgins loses District Attorney post, McGregor wins a fourth Council term.
