Theodore Drexel of Roslindale says a German class book at West Roxbury High School is immoral. He cites L Arabblata by Paul Heyse and says several citizens back his view after reading the text. He asks the school board to consider his remonstrance and warns parents would not permit their children to study it.

Murder on High Seas Off Virginia Coast
The schooner Thomas Winsmore reports a crew murder during a quarrel on November 1 off the Virginia coast. Pantel Brown of Turk's Island and NDavid Loremor of Nassau fought and Brown stabbed Loremor three times, dying instantly. Brown was clubbed into submission and handed to police on arrival. Loremor's body was sent to the morgue.
