A. D. Davidson Steamship With American Crew Reflagged

Montreal harbor officials report the steamship A. D. Davidson now carries an American crew. The vessel, built in Wyandotte, Michigan in 1903, 241 feet long and 1640 tons gross, was purchased by a French company from Great Lakes Shipping. A crew of 23, including Americans, was assembled for the ship's voyage.

Mission and memorial services announced by local clergy

The Dominican Fathers will open a two week mission at St. Thomas Church Jamaica Plain starting next Sunday with a women’s week and a men’s mission beginning Sunday November 12. Rev John F Cummins will preach the 11 o’clock memorial mass for the dead at Calvary Cemetery chapel. The annual pontifical mass for deceased archdiocese bishops and priests will be held Monday at 9 am at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
