Harvard Sons of '61 Memorial Day Service
About a thousand people attended the Memorial Day service in Sanders Theatre honoring Harvard men who died in the Civil War. Major Henry Lee Higginson introduced Hon. John Read of the class of 1862, who delivered the address. The Harvard Glee Club led the hymns and the audience joined in. Dr. Samuel Crothers closed the service with a benediction.
